René is driving the development and realization of the group-wide People and HR strategy. Among other initiatives, he was responsible for the global implementation of a major HR change initiative, introducing a new global role framework, new reward and new people development approaches. He began his career with Boehringer Ingelheim, where he held various positions in Inhouse Consulting, Talent Acquisition and Compensation at local and global level. Previously to joining Merck in 2016 he received his MBA from the IE Business School in Madrid. He lived and studied in the US, Estonia, Spain and Singapore.
